Wiosenne porządki stały się tradycją również dla mieszkańców Pearl Lagune. Jednakże wszyscy, których stać na domy w tej dzielnicy, wolą korzystać z usług firm sprzątających lub ogłaszających się w Internecie osób prywatnych chcących dorobić. Okna muszą lśnić czystością, a na tarasach, z których widać ocean nie może zaleźć się nawet gram kurzu. Jak, na taki widok, zareagowaliby wścibscy sąsiedzi?
W tym roku porządki okazały się nieco trudniejsze, bowiem dzielnica została pozbawiona dopływu ciepłej wody na dwa tygodnie! W tym okresie trwały niezbędne naprawy struktur wodno-kanalizacyjnych. Towarzyszył im przykry (dla wielu nie do zniesienia) zapach oraz nieustające hałasy. Władze miasta oficjalnie przeprosiły za utrudnienia.
Na szczęście bliskość oceanu wynagradzała wszelkie niewygody. Okoliczne plaże wypełnili złaknieni słońca mieszkańcy Lorne Bay, a także różnej maści sprzedawcy – na każdym kroku można ujrzeć wózki z popcornem, budki oferujące lody oraz ciepłe gofry, a także… nudności!? Okazuje się, że do sklepów trafiła felerna partia bitej śmietany, której zjedzenie gwarantowało żołądkowe rewolucje. Niedojedzonymi resztkami zainteresowały się mewy, co – jak możecie się domyślić – skończyło się ogromnym bałaganem.
